Hello Everyone! As you can guess by the title, this week I went to Ueno to visit Tokyo's National Museum of Nature and Science. It was so much fun!
Lunch at Kita-Senju
This week I've been pretty busy with school but on Wednesday I decided to check out this sushi restaurant that I saw on my Instagram feed that had this really delicious unagi-don and sashimi set for lunch. The restaurant was located in Kita-Senju and was quite far from the train station (about a 15 minute walk). It was my first time visiting Kita-Senju and it seems like a nice place, a very residential area. The restaurant I visited was called すし処若. Before visiting I read on Google reviews that the place could get quite busy so I arrived 30 minutes before opening. I was the first one there and the food came out really quickly. The sashimi was delicious but the unaji-don was average. After eating I went to Ueno.

National Museum of nature and Science
I've been really interested in visiting the National Museum of Nature and Science for a while now and going did not disappoint. The Museum is huge and is split up into two sections, one about Japan and the other about Global nature and scientific discoveries. Since the museum was so big though, I wasn't able to finish looking through all the exhibitions. I totally recommend going though, it was a fantastic experience and everything was so interesting to look at and read. My favorite part of the museum though was this show they had which put you into a 360 degree theatre and you watched a simulation about the Journey of Humanity and how we evolved.
Afterwards, I decided to check out this little cafe near Ueno station that I also saw on Instagram called Nagi Ueno. The matcha latte and pudding I got was spectacular.

On Friday, Japan was going through a typhoon which is really common during June as it is 梅雨 (つゆーrainy season). Unfortunately though due to the rain, trains had to stop for a while in the evening. Thankfully, I arrived home before this had happened. But it continued to rain all night and it was really hard to sleep was a result. It was my first time experiencing something like this.
Shinkansen Tickets
I'm currently planning my trip to Osaka and will be getting my Shinkansen (bullet train) tickets this week. I'm so excited!!!
Until next week...😊
