Week 10 - Halfway through the Semester

Hello Everyone! I can't believe its already halfway through my study abroad experience. This week I was really busy studying for my midterm but I did go to Shibuya and eat some yakiniku.

Rage Blue & Pie

My brother requested I get him some clothes at Rage Blue in Shibuya so I spent my Sunday exploring the area. I first ended up buying his requested clothing and afterwards I went to this cute little cafe nearby and got a milk tea and banana pie. It was really delicious and the pie was actually a fully fried whole banana which was really unique.

Afterwards I did some shopping for myself and headed home.

After Midterms

I spent most of my week just studying for my financial management midterm. After taking the difficult exam I decided to cheer myself up by getting some yakiniku at a restaurant in LUMINE which is a department store in Shinjuku.

The yakiniku was delicious and really cheap at only 1200円. I also really like that fact that it is normal to go out and eat by oneself. I personally like going out to eat by myself even in Hawaii so I feel really at home in Japan.

After I got home, I found out my grandma had actually bought a roll-cake for me as a congratulations for getting through my midterm. My grandma's the best!

Yakiniku

I ended up eating yakiniku again yesterday for lunch. We went to the same place that we celebrated my grandpa's birthday at. The yakiniku was delicious and I think some of the best I've ever eaten in my life. The fact that it only cost 1600円 per person and that you get 120g of kalbi, rice, salad, and seaweed soup is just so amazing and crazy cheap.

I've really enjoyed these last 10 weeks in Japan. I feel a lot more connected to my Japanese roots, have had a great time with my grandparents, and made some great friends. I'm currently planning a trip to Osaka soon, so hopefully in June I'll be able to go.

Until next week...😊
